Can ThermApparel Phase Change Material (PCM) Cooling Packs be left in the Freezer?

Yes! The ThermApparel Phase Change Material (PCM) Cooling Packs can be left in the freezer. We keep ours in the office freezer and they have been there for months and months with no damage what so ever.

Tips For Cooling Down The Packs

  • The packs can go in the freezer, fridge or ice water to recharge.

  • 20 min in ice water.

  • 40 min in the freezer.

  • 60 min in the fridge.

  • They also will start to recharge on their own if the ambient temp is below 70F This takes a long time (8 hours +) but they are self-recharging.

I use my UnderCool cooling vest at the gym and after I am done I hand wash the vest with the packs still in the pockets and then lay it flat on a towel on the kitchen table to dry overnight. It takes about 8+ hours but because our house is in the low to mid 60F's at night and the UnderCool cooling vest is laying on a hard solid cool surface they recharge. Pretty cool!!

I hope this helps. If you have any additional questions please let me know.

Cheers!
